KOF 2002UM in SBO 2010, all your games are belong to SNKP!!

The SBO lineup was announced and confirmed recently with KOF2002UM making it in as one out of two games for 1v1. (For some reason all other games seem to be team events this year)

The event finals should be held sometime in September.

One last thing before i end this short entry (and probably the only reason i mentioned SBO...), i saw this in the arcadia scan and found it fairly amusing.

(Nothing strange here...)

(Yup, 3on3 3rd Strike made by SNK Playmore???)

(BlazBlue CS, also another SNKP game...)

KOF SkyStage

Was just checking out updates for this and according to the official site it's due out this month, though i'm not entirely sure though whether this is just the estimated arcade release or if it also means it's due for release on Xbox Live Arcade month this month too.

From what i can (sort of) read of the Japanese blog it seems like the XBLA version will support online ranking boards, as well as some kinda of online vs mode (I'm not entirely sure the specifics on this).

But anyway whilst trying to research a little more about the game, i came across this video on youtube. Which is a MUGEN made version of KOF Skystage, i assume this was made by the uploader Kozeni.

You can download the files for this on his/her website here, though personally i haven't played around with MUGEN for years so i can't remember how this all works, so haven't tried it myself.

Check out a few screens of the MUGEN version of the game, hilarious stuff:

Leona In Metal Slug XX

Haven't really been keeping up with the news regarding this game so i'm not sure how old this information is, but only found out today that Leona is to be playable in the PSP version of Metal Slug XX.

According to the Official Playstation blog she is to be included as DLC for 99cents, although not an incredible amount of money i'm not sure why she isn't included as standard...
The game is already out in Japan, £30 on Playasia for the Japanese version or £28 for the Asian version, and is due for release on Feb.23rd in the US.

No release date i can find yet for the UK. =_=

Anyway back to Leona, from what i can tell she has her Moon Slasher attack and throws her earring explosives instead of grenades.

Also as i mentioned in a previous entry this game will also be due out on Xbox Live Arcade at some point this year, though no details currently whether Leona will be in that version yet.

And finally whilst on the subject of Metal Slug, i've read about there being a version on the iPhone, not too sure if it's any good or not but i can't imagine playing Metal Slug via touchscreen.

More screens on the SNKP official site.

Happy New Year 2010 !

Was just browsing the snkp official website randomly, and noticed they put up New Year's greeting images so thought i'd share them here.

Alternatively you can check them out on the official website here.

Also i noticed they announced approximate seasons in which the Xbox Live Arcade releases would be released this year.

KOF SKY STAGE - Shooter Spring 2010
NEOGEO BATTLE COLISEUM - Fighting - Spring 2010
METAL SLUG XX - Action/Shooter - Spring 2010
KOF 2002 UNLIMITED MATCH - Fighting - Summer 2010

No information regarding how much ms points these will cost yet, but judging by past releases i'd assume around 800ms.

Hopefully this should be a good year for SNKP. Although i'm looking forward to the xbox live release of 02UM (and hoping the netcode is better than releases so far...), i'm still waiting for news on KOFXIII.
