Walnut Consolized MVS system
Saw this on Joystiq just now. Apparently a company called Analogue Interactive is due to start shipping a consolized MVS system (in May 2011) made to resemble the shape of a Neo Geo AES home system, but instead of the sleek black plastic the AES is made of this will instead be made of walnut (they explain the reasoning for this on the design section of their website).
For those who do not know what a consolized MVS system is, it's basically taking the MVS system and modifying it so you can play it on your TV at home (just like a games console :P ).
It's a cheaper alternative to collecting Neo Geo carts considering some AES homecarts can cost up to 10 times more than the MVS arcade cart.
At US $649 it's pretty expensive, but it's still pretty cool that there are people out there creating 'new' Neo Geo goods.
Anyway check out Analogue Interactive's website for more details and to preorder.

Trouble Witches NEO! - XBLA Release Date
Noticed on Andriasang today this article stating the release date for the XBLA game Trouble Witches NEO!
Due to hit XBLA on the 27th April it will cost 800MS, and also announced is that there will be downloadable content (for the character shown below). I can't seem to find any information as of yet as to how much the DLC will cost or whether it would be free...(Unlikely...lol)
Check out the official website for the game here.

NeoEmpire Podcast: Where the hell is KOF13?
Check it out over on NeoEmpire's main page (or to the article here) where you can either stream it or download it to listen to whenever you want. Bare in mind i swear quite alot so it's pretty NSFW.
This was basically a podcast hosted by Bullet Proof (owner of NeoEmpire) speaking with, Gunsmith (owner of Orochinagi), and myself about KOFXIII and KOF02UM.
Should probably note that although i do speak a little harshly about KOFXIII i did enjoy playing the game at UCX ,as i mentioned in my first impressions blog entry, just a bit fed up of waiting around with no news of a release date or not being able to play it.
It's quite a casual conversation (at least i treated it like it), and many of the things asked were done as we went along so i think that some of my answers weren't as clear as they probably could have been.
Was my first time appearing on a podcast, which was fun, but i think as it was my first time doing one i wasn't as prepared for it as i could have been.
Anyway have a listen, and if there's anything you feel i wasn't too clear about feel free to leave a comment and i'll try to clarify.

KOF DUNK
Saw this over on NeoEmpire's forums. A pretty cool animation made with KOF sprites to resemble the opening for Slam Dunk.
Having never watched Slam Dunk before i went off to look up the opening on Youtube.
Pretty well made don't you think ? Some pretty clever useage of sprites.

Ultimate Clash 7 - KOF02UM
This event will be held this month on the 17th April, no note yet as to what time the KOF02UM will start yet, but the opening and close times are listed on NeoEmpire.
The actual tournament itself will be run by Orochinagi's Gunsmith.
Not too sure if i will attend yet, as previously mentioned i haven't played for a while (maybe over a month now), but i'm considering it.
As you may or may not know the last Ultimate Clash KOF tournament (UCX) was won by Bata (see video below):
And before that i won (UC4):
So i may have to turn up to defend my title...(or i could just hide at home and be the retired UK champion lol).
Anyway keep an eye out on Orochinagi as i'm sure Gunsmith will be recording the matches.

Neo Geo Gals Graffiti [LaserDisc]
RealityRetroGaming has just uploaded the Neo Geo Gals Graffiti LaserDisc to his Youtube Channel.
Have not watched it all properly yet (just skipped through the video), as i only just saw it on Youtube as i am about to go sleep, but it's hosted by Chiba Reiko and features various clips of the various SNK (and ADK) female characters.
From what i've seen so far it also features clips showing ways to beat the bosses with the female characters as well as a couple of combos.
I've been pretty interested in this video for a while. Almost bought a dvd version from Playasia but the wait time was pretty silly so i ended up cancelling my order (and kinda forgot about it).
Anyway check it out yourself:
Also make sure you subscribe to RealityRetroGaming's Youtube channel as he has plenty of other great SNK (as well as various other 'classic' game) videos, and check out his website here.
