SvC:Chaos CMV / Dark Geese vs Desmond DelaGhetto KOFXI Casuals

Some new videos that were uploaded within the past day or so.

The first coming from Fiol's Channel, italiancrustpunx, which is a combo music video featuring SNK vs Capcom: Chaos. It showcases quite a few of the characters in the game, but not all.

Although i was never a big fan of the game as a whole, i have always enjoyed playing it for a laugh and occasionally still do have a go on it whenever i have to go to meet friends at Las Vegas.

I bought a bootleg MVS cart of it a while back, which seems to play like the real thing, except for some reason when you catch the opponent in Iori's qcfx2+K it does the move and animation as normal but no damage lol.

I also have it on PAL PS2, but because Ignition decided to publish it on a CD Rom disc it makes a nasty lawnmower sound whenever it reads the disc...So i tend to avoid playing it that version...

There were some matches filmed recently (about a month ago) in Mexico and uploaded to DarkGeese's channel.

Next up is a video of casual matches (about 43minutes worth) between Dark Geese and Desmond DelaGhetto on KOFXI. Who were both recently on the latest DreamCancel podcast.

Some crazy stuff in these matches like the cross up/mix up after a player gets killed into a 100% combo with Duo Lon...

Still need to get myself to sit down and try and play this game properly, tried to play it for a couple of hours last week and spent most of that time trying (and failing miserably) to beat Magaki...

Akodet's Photos and Info, KOFXIII In Replay Games [Bangor, Northern Ireland]

Some more information has been posted up on NeoEmpire's forums regarding the KOFXIII arcade board, which has recently been put into Replay Games in Northern Ireland, this time by user Akodet. He has also kindly posted up information about how to get to there for anyone who is interested in visiting.

Mostly copy-pasted from This post, but King of Fighters XIII (ver1.1) is available to play in Replay Games in Bangor. For anyone wondering, it's 50p a credit and it's on a prototype Delta 32 cabinet with stock parts (Sanwa JLW and OBSF-30s I think. Whatever they are, still very much playable).

COPY-PASTE: As for coming over, I have absolutely no clue about Bangor but I asked Gareth (the store's owner) about it and he said there are plenty of cheap b+b's in the area around his shop, located here. The only thing I can suggest is getting a flight to Belfast City Airport and hopping on the train from Sydenham to Bangor central. The journey is only about 20minutes and lands you on Main Street, around the corner and up the road from Replay. For anyone interested he also has SSF4: AE and CS, but not CS2 yet.

Video! Excuse the bad play since the people who are in the vid don't play KoF, short video, shaky cam and bad accents. http://youtu.be/kmz-0t-JVc8?hd=1

Also from what i understand this cabinet is shared between KOFXIII and SSF4AE, so you have to ask the owner to change between the games, though this arrangement is much better than Casino (London) which has 6 SSF4AE cabinets and a grand total of 0 KOFXIII cabs...

Yreval's Photos/Impressions Of KOFXIII In Replay Games [Bangor, Northern Ireland]

Yreval has just posted up some photos of the KOFXIII arcade set up they have over in Replay Games, as well as a few first impressions of the game on NeoEmpire and Boards.ie.

KOF XIII
- Tried a few different characters - Terry, Iori, K', Kula, Athena, Yuri. Being so used to old-school Iori I had some trouble adjusting - he still has his j.b+B (one of my favourite moves in all of fighting games) though, so I think I will give him another shot. He's also the only character whose Neomax I successfully landed today.
- Game looks very good in person - not too fond of the filter applied to the character sprites but the backgrounds are absolutely sick.

Looks like a pretty nice set up and store. I'm not sure if they've filmed any matches as of yet but if there are any videos i'll edit them into this post later.

KOF96 Neo Geo Collection [Neo Geo CD]

Forgot to post about this yesterday, i came across some videos (from Youtube users Niponware, Proxathanos, and TheWanderingRiot) showing the extra content that came with the Neo Geo Collection version of King of Fighters 96, which was exclusive to the Neo Geo CD.

First the artbook, from Niponware:

The in-game art gallery, from Proxathanos:

And the 'inside story' video showing which explains the story of the Orochi, Yagami and Kusanagi Clans, from TheWanderingRiot:

Kind of seems like a nice package overall, i still don't own a Neo Geo CD console yet myself (even though i own about 15 games for it :-/ ) though i'll probably buy one eventually. Just waiting to see one for 'cheap' on Yahoo Auctions.

There are only very few NGCD exclusive titles, off the top of my head i can only think of ADK World, Neo Geo Special CD, SamSho RPG (though i think this was released on PS1/Saturn), Final Romance 2, and Iron Clad/Chotetsu Brikinger (which was recently released on the Wii's Japanese Virtual Console).

I think there was also a 'limited edition' version of Art of Fighting 3, which i remember being told comes with Robert's coin.

Of them all i'm probably most interesting in ADK World, just because of the Brocken shmup mini game:

GERMAN MISSILE!!

KOF02UM Shinjuku Las Vegas Tournament

SMOAI2010 has just started uploading a new set of videos from a Tournament held in Shinjuku's Las Vegas arcade, only two parts as of now but some very decent matches.

Nice to see some Ralf play in this first vid, haven't seen anyone use him for a while now and probably the first time i've seen Mature do a BC combo in a match. (Poor King didn't stand a chance...lol.)

Some nice Jhun play in this second vid, wanted to try and learn this character a while back but found him a bit too confusing to use.

There should be more coming (i think), subscribe to SMOAI2010 to check them out when he uploads some more.

KOFXIII - Fan Sprite Edits

As noted to me yesterday on one of the comments the previous Krauser 'screenshot' was actually a fan edit originating i believe to be from a post on KOF Union from 2010.

I've just had a quick skim through the thread and found these other KOF fan edits:

 Krauser:
 Krauser??
 Mai:
 Athena:
 Shermie:
 Yagami Team:
 Iori:
Vice:
 Mature:
 Kusanagi:
 Leona:

This last one although it looks like an edit of Shen Woo, i believe it is actually a tribute of sorts to the unused character shown in the KOFXII Japanese Guide. (Please see blurry photo below)

It's kind of a shame these edits will never appear in the game, as some of them are actually quite good, also after seeing the Kusanagi edit it reminded me that i always did wonder as well why the Kyo clone trio didn't make it into KOFXII as i believe it wouldn't have been that much more work for them to draw a few more frames for them.
And i've always liked the Another Iori costume from KOF2000 too.

Finally just for laughs, this set of pictures i saw in someone's avatar/signature on KOF Union.

If you check out the thread on KOF Union you can see a couple of other non KOF edits.
