Arcadia Rankings June/July 2011

As you may well know i haven't bought Arcadia for a while as it was costing me like £15 per issue every month for less and less SNKP content but came across this post on Versus City today regarding the rankings for June and July 2011.

Doesn't seem like much has changed very much since i last bought it, 02UM randomly dropping in and out and XIII lingering within the 5-10 spots.

TROUBLE WITCHES☆NEO! - Super Play - Pril Patowle - Stage 1

SNKPlaymore on XBLA's Facebook page updated earlier today with a SuperPlay/No Miss video featuring Trouble Witches Neo!

The player is using Pril Patowle and so far only the first stage is shown. It's well worth watching if you wanted to learn more about playing/scoring in this game.

Judging by the bullet speed (and amount of bullets) i believe it may possibly be on one of the higher difficulty levels. (Not being able to turn on my 360 at the moment to double check i can't tell for sure.)

Queen's Gate Spiral Chaos - Retail Bonus Items

Saw this on Andriasang just now, some of the bonus items have been announced for Queen's Gate Spiral Chaos.

To get these you'd have to go to the store which is offering each item and buy the game to get them, meaning unless you live in Japan and buy many copies of the game you won't get them all.

First of the SNKP related ones is a Mai microfiber cloth...(For wiping stuff i guess lol... :-/ )

And the rest are telephone cards of the SamSho girls, though i've never quite understood why games come with telephone cards. There are quite alot of KOF ones, i've tended to avoid collecting them though as they aren't very cheap. (Usually around £5ish.)

There are other bonus items of course, including a pillow case and a bag with a print of a girl who is laying in her own urine(??)... You can check out the rest of those over on Andriasang.

Fast Striker Vids - Stages 1 - 3 [Maniac Mode]

Whilst browsing Youtube, for videos of Fast Striker (Maniac Mode), earlier today i came across this set of videos from Youtube user aveFger.







Although it's shown me the differences in the MVS and iPhone versions (such as in the MVS version you can shoot backwards), it's also given me a better idea of how to approach playing the game.

His score by the end of the first stage is already many times higher than my current high score lol.
I have improved slightly since my last post though, my highest score is now rank 20 in Maniac Mode.

Choose the 6th Game @ Super VS Battle 20XI

There's been a poll put up on NeoEmpire's forums regarding which game should take the 6th spot on the main events line up for SVB this year and amongst those games is 02UM.

In all likelyhood if the game doesn't get voted in there will be no SNKP games in the main lineup this year at Super VS Battle, and would be a real shame considering NeoEmpire was originally founded by people who played KOF...

Last Blade 2 (Unblockable Set Ups) / Garou MOTW Guard Cancel Exhibition

Whilst trying to search for an explanation for Zantetsu's glitch where he repeatedly bounces on the opponent i came across WiLMaster002's channel. Although i've still not found an explanation of how to do the glitch i did find a couple of interesting videos on this channel.

The first is for Last Blade 2 and demonstrates how you can use an unblockable air attack on the opponent waking up.


From the video description:
This video showcases various setups for the Unblockable Air Hit Glitch.
The glitch is that for a brief period as a character is waking up from a knockdown they are unable to block aerial attacks.

It should also be noted that these setups can be escaped by:
1. Deflecting
2. A reversal attack (a la Lee (2)8B
3. By rolling away from the setup.

It's well worth having a look in WiLMaster002's channel if you're interested in Last Blade or MOTW as there are quite a lot of combo, demonstration, and match videos for those two games.

Eurogamer's Walnut CMVS Review

EuroGamer has posted up a review of the Walnut CMVS unit created by Analogue Interactive.
It gives a brief rundown on things like MVS vs AES, the hardware itself and software.

Even if you have no interest in this particular unit it is still a good read for those who may go down the CMVS route at some point. Even owning a CMVS unit already myself i personally enjoyed reading the article.
