Trouble Witches NEO! Review In This Month's Retro Gamer magazine

In this month's issue of Retro Gamer there is a (very) short review of Trouble Witches NEO!, although it is not a retro game at all, the magazine reviews interesting new 2D games or remakes/sequels to retro games.

I've mentioned Retro Gamer before in the past, and although i do not buy it all the time (i only buy it when there's content i'm interested in) it is a good read particularly if you enjoy retro gaming.

Neo Geo Kult [Website]

Came across this website whilst browsing Neo-Geo.com's forums yesterday, but didn't have the time to post up about it until today.

It's basically a fan made website dedicated to the Neo Geo with loads of reviews, articles, guides, etc.
The site for the most part is mainly in French, but there are quite a lot of reviews in English as well.

It's a huge website and seems well written from what i've read so far, and well worth checking out as there is plenty of content on there.

KOF02UM K-1 2v2 Grand Prix Tournament

Some more KOF02UM vids were uploaded by SMOAI2010, this time from a 2 vs 2 tournament, not too sure who the players are or whereabouts in Japan it was held. Though i have a sneaking suspicion that OZ is playing in the second video due to the strong Hinako play. 

There's quite a wide range of characters being used so well worth a watch if you get the chance.

KOFXIII Billy Kane ScreenShots / New BackGrounds!!

Andriasang has just posted up some screenshots showing Billy Kane in action,  as well as showing off some of the all new stages, and what looks like a new intro for the console version.

Special background appearances looks like there's Lilly Kane, Krauser and Lawrence Blood in the background for what looks like to be Billy Kane's stage.

According to SNKP's Matsushita, the home console version of KOFXIII will feature some old stages in the KOF series, albeit redrawn in HD graphics.

Oh, so the new backgrounds have been announced! The concept behind them are "Easy to the eye, undisturbing to the gameplay (give the spectators regular physiques)", "Release previous KOF backgrounds and new backgrounds in beautiful HD quality". They're the effort of hard work by the background's staff!

So that's the concept behind having the previous backgrounds, but they might've taken my request when I said "I'd love to see the old KOF backgrounds in HD quality". The old stages in HD will really make your heart pound, they look like High-res NeoGeo!

TROUBLE WITCHES☆NEO! - Super Play - Sakurako Kojo - Stage 6

The final part of the Super Play series of Trouble Witches NEO! featuring Sakurako Kojo has now been uploaded to SNKP On XBLA's Facebook page.

I'm assuming they'll continue with the other characters after this, hopefully at some point they'll upload a higher quality version to their Youtube channel too.

Blog Updates (1/7/11)

Just spent about half an hour updating the 'Featured Write Ups' section with some of the posts i've done over the past couple of months, there's still a few things i need to add but i think i've had enough of messing around with html and blogspot's compose mode for the day.

I still need to finish off writing the Old SNK Goods From Japan, i only have the Neo Geo DJ Station 99 left to write about but haven't been able to find the time and energy to do it lately. I'll definitely have it done in the next couple of weeks as my friend will be coming back from Japan again with some more goods lol...

I don't think i mentioned it yet but i spent a little of Saturday updating the KOFXIII Technical References page, that still needs a whole lot of work done to it too.... :-/

And finally thanks for 10,000 views last month!!

I'm always really happy that people read this blog site, as i do it all in my spare time by myself, so it's always good to know there are people viewing and hopefully enjoying the content. ^^

KOF02UM VERSUS vids (27/06/11)

A new set of videos from VERSUS in Japan have been uploaded by SMOAI2010 today, i haven't had a chance to watch them all yet but there's some nice Kyo-2 play in the first video. I didn't realise you could cancel straight from his down-forward+D, i always thought you had to cancel something into it first.

Also worth noting Bata is playing in this set of videos, he comes in on the fourth video about 16:20ish, and plays a good set of games.

Hopefully i should be meeting up with him later on in the year (or early next year) when i head out to Japan, would be good to play him again as even though he completely thrashes me i learnt alot from playing him when he was in London.
